Over and over, I have heard the words, “Welcome to
Canton! You are going to love working here.”This speaks
to the great pride that people have in the school community.
After
spending 12 years in the classroom - as an elementary, self-contained
special needs, and middle school Title 1 teacher - I decided
to pursue a Masters degree in School Administration. I was
drawn to the field of curriculum leadership and became the
first Middle School Curriculum Specialist in East Bridgewater.
I served in that capacity for 19 years, during which time
I completed a C.A.G.S. degree in Curriculum & Instruction.
For the last two years, I worked as the K-8 Humanities Coordinator
in North Attleborough. My career goal has been to hold a
district level position, where I feel I can have the greatest
positive impact on teaching and learning.
As
a curriculum leader, I derive a great deal of satisfaction
by working closely with teachers and administrators to develop
and implement standards-based curriculum and design professional
development that helps teachers expand their repertoire
of effective teaching strategies. I am also firmly committed
to supporting the integration of technology to enhance instruction.
I
believe that my role is to serve as a cheerleader, resource,
and support to teachers, department leaders, and administrators.
My goal is to work collaboratively with others to help make
an excellent school system even better, and to provide the
students of Canton with the best possible educational experience.
I look forward to a very productive year!
Please
feel free to contact me by phone or email - my door is always
open!
