What is C.A.P.T.?
C.A.P.T., which stands for Canton Association of Parents
and Teachers, is the parent/teacher organization for the Kennedy
School. C.A.P.T. funds all field trips as well as in-school
educational programs such as science demonstrations and safety
workshops. We help provide supplies for the classrooms and
organize activities such as the Winter Fling, the Holiday
Shoppe and the annual fifth grade play. In addition, C.A.P.T.
produces the school newsletter, conducts the room parent program,
monitors School Committee meetings, and supports the beautification
of the school and grounds.
C.A.P.T. Meetings
The C.A.P.T. organization meets monthly and all parents are
welcome to attend. The schedule
is available on the JFK calendar and is also published in
the newsletter. You can become actively involved, or just
come to listen. Joining the C.A.P.T. meetings is a great way
to stay informed.
CAPT Committees
You may be interested in joining one of the many C.A.P.T.
committees serving our school population. If you are interested
in becoming more involved, simply attend one of the meetings
or contact someone on the C.A.P.T.
Board. Your individual level of participation can be as
much or as little as you are able to give. All volunteers
are greatly appreciated!
C.A.P.T. Membership
Regardless of your planned level of involvement, we ask each
JFK family, if possible, to make a C.A.P.T. Membership donation.
Membership does not require C.A.P.T. meeting attendance. Your
annual membership is simply a donation to help fund all of
these much needed programs and activities. If you haven’t
done so already, please consider making a membership donation
by completing the Membership
Form and returning it to school with your child.
Thank you for your support of education at the
Kennedy School!
